——— BUT POETS AT BUT FILM FESTIVAL ———

For the first time at the BUT Film Festival this year’s edition has a stage for BUT POETS. Kick of is by Diana Ozon (Amsterdam) as opening poet preceding the opening film. She is Poet, performer, artist, writer and gives lectures. ‘Ozon has a visual memory, thinks and writes in images. “With my poetry I screen, with word, a film onto the minds of my audience” quote of poet. info: Diana Ozon (Amsterdam).

In addition from Thursday night untill Saturday night after the film program combined with the musical performance program by George Mensink various poets will perform on the stage in Theater De Boulevard:

ACG Vianen (Eindhoven). Poet in written language, sound & image to abstract poetry. In his opinion words are the tools of poetry in all its parts. Slamming, sometimes literarily, on the floorboards with at any time the fear he would rip his mouth open. info: www.acgvianen.nl. Performance Thursday September 9th.


Maja Jantar (Belgie). Is director, poet and artist. Executes performances. Is a part of poetic collective Krikri. Directed operas and other theatre plays such as Infinito Nero by Salvatore Sciarrino, La Corona by C.W. Gluck and Aap verslaat de Knekelgeest by Peter Schat. Makes work as a word artist. Performance Thursday September 9th.


Harry Zevenbergen (Den Haag). Writer/poet, performer. Ex-city poet of Den Ziet his work is provocative and absurd, with humor, sensitive and engaged. Next to performances in the literary cirquit he is often seen on pop-, punk- folk- and streetfestivals. In England and Schotland he has built a live-reputation with various performances. Takes part in SUB, literary organisation. Performance September 9th .

Sven de Swerts (Belgie)
He is a self-proclamed Spinyopaat and gothic Poet, with a mix of metal without music he performs during the BUTFF with a loud imagination, he takes on the festival adn experiments in three different languages without compromising content. Performance Friday September 10th .


Nick J. Swarth (Tilburg) A poet and performer who sees existence as a cut up B-film. The organized disorder of a city frames the reference for his poetry. He takes part in Zwarte Vleugels, who make productions in every imaginable discipline. Performance Friday September 10th. Also perfoms with RUFT this evening and takes part in this festival with a film with Jeroen de Leier.


Mark Verver. Public performances by this ‘ex-professionally-unemployed’ Mark Verver, are rare. So seize the opportunity to see him real live and in the flesh. He writes about the extremes and searching the boundaries in them. He debuted with a novel that was a Houellebecq-Miller mix about a porn and sex obsessed young man who has a battle a la Kafka with reality. Performance Friday September 10th


Rijminstructeur uit Rotterdam met RUFT. Ruft is a ‘messy collective’ who do not rehearse but simply improvise. Theme: Autistic Chaotic. RUFT is the Rhyme-instuctor - poet [self -induced slander], Theo Huijgens - poet [unearthly like a mol], Nick J. Swarth - poet [straight from the jungle], Ronald Vriesman – guitarist [childish guitar waves] and the illustrious drumduo Remco Visser and Paul Versteeg [intriguing throbs]. DASTRUGISTENDA. two locations. Show ‘boxring’ fighting with words on Saturday afternoon September 11th on the Nieuwe Veste square. Stage performance in the evening in Boulevard. On Sunday September 12th they will serve Poetry for breakfast. In between various short acts on different places on the street.
