During Christmas the early matured teenager Dawn, who smokes and used too much hairspray, gets into a fight with her parents. She decides to hitch-hike into the big city and find a job in the sex industry. Raped and pregnant she finds shelter in Earl's shady barbershop, a hangout for eccentric people and criminals. Soon enough Dawn takes a turn into criminality as well. She is launched as some sort of model for crime in Earl's variety show. Her trampoline-act turns the audience ecstatic.
