Club '70 – double bill

Club '70 logo

With the rise of directors similar to Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez a great interest has develloped in the exploitation-, grindhouse-, drive-in-, horror- and cultfilms from the 70s. With Club 70's screening at the BUT Film Festival a compilation of these films is selected.

this year a double-bill of 'living dead' is programmed.
Night of the living dead

And what better way to start than with the black and white classic from 1968: 'Night of the Living Dead'. This movie details about a group of people traped in a house surrounded by living dead, to this day and age still impressive and creepy. With an unsurpasable mood setting and an ending that is so characterising for the 70s this film is a true classic.

The obscure and campy 'Psychomania', a British film from 1973 in which a gang of young motorcyclists return as living dead after a number of hilarious and spectacular suicide attempts. One of the most remarkable films in this genre. The gang gets involved in many killings but with only little of blood showing. Unforgettable is the funeralscene where the gangleader is burried zitting on his motorcycle.

To keep the setting authentic the films are screened like in old drive in theatres, namely 'double-bills' (two for the price of one). In Club '70 only exclusive films on 16 and 35mm will be screened. scratches, filmwelds, cables and discolourations are all part of the real thing.

Screening:
Sunday Sept. 13th 16.00 h. Electron Upper Theatre
