Due to the popularity of new technologies and internet Videodrome again has become an actual film. In the eighties it was the tv-screen that made people passive, nowadays some may point at the dangers of addiction to internet. Max Renn is a programmer at a tv station. One day he finds a pile of tapes with sex, sm, torture and even murder on it. He finds out that it is all about a snuff program named Videodrome. Renn gets obsessed by this show and wants to broadcast it. In the rich oeuvre of Cronenberg’s work Viodeodrome can be seen as a masterpiece, that still is relevant and up to date.
