Cameron Vale is a ‘scanner’, someone who can control the minds of others. Worldwide scanners have united themselves in a secret organisation lead by Deryl Revok, who wants to rule the world. Vale however does not belong to this club. He is approached by Dr Paul Ruth, who wants him to infiltrate this underground movement. Like many other films of Cronenberg this one shows the dangers of genetic manipulation.
