Ricardo Ribelles

Ricardo Ribelles started as a comic artist, his work is published in the Spanish magazine Rambla.

As a filmmaker he is director, producer, script writer, actor, designer and cameraman. He carried out all of these functions when he made his first film, the 16 minutes long sf/horror epic Exorcio Deus Machine: La Misin (Exorcio Deus Machine: The Mission) in 1996. This film with characters from his own comics was nominated as best short on the International Filmfestival of Sitges in 1997.

The title of that short film refer to a group of people in a apocalyptic future, led by 'The Baron', fighting the devil and his servants. It can be considered as a pre-study / precursor to his first feature, shown at the festival: El Baron Contra los Demonios (The Baron Against the Demons). Again, The Baron and co fight the diabolic powers that threaten to take over the Earth. In contract to his previous film, Ribelles himself is not seen in this one.
