div class='kop1'>Jack Ketchums The Girl Next Door
Director: Gregory M. Wilson
Country: USA
Year: 2007
Length: 91 minutes
Language: English
Subtitles: no
Cast: Blanche Baker, Daniel Manche, Blythe Auffarth, William Atherton, Catherine Mary Stewart, Grant Show

This film is based upon the controversial best-seller of author Jack Ketchum, which in turn was based upon the real-life murder of the 16-year old Sylvia Marie Likens. It was produced by Andrew van den Houten, who attended BUT Film Festival last year where he presented Headspeace, which he directed.
Jack Ketchums The Girl Next Door is the shocking story of two girls who are placed in their aunts custody after their parents perished in a car accident. Their single aunt is a bitter woman who keeps the girls in line with chores. Her three young sons are interested in the girls and soon the aunt becomes jealous and starts to taunt the girls. Soon everything gets out of control and the taunting becomes tormenting. The three boys and other kids from the neighbourhood get in on the game with devastating consequences.
This bone-chilling thriller proves once more that a true story is often much more disturbing then the fantasy of writers. This is all enchanced by the superb acting of Blanche Baker (as the aunt) and the youngsters among the cast.

Screening: Th. 27 Sept., 22.00 h, large auditorium
